OVER THE HILLS TO THE VALLEY
*BEST CHOICE
The first cycling route is the most recommended for someone who wants to see the most of Brda's beauties in one day. The route takes you over the Korada hill, where you can see the most famous abandoned village in Slovenia - Slapnik, to the other end of the hills, where the beauty of the natural riverbeds and the Krčnik natural bridge takes you in unspoiled nature. When returning to the village of Neblo, you can stop at the Petrnel restaurant, where you can have refreshments and something to eat. You climb towards our homestead via Dobrovo, where you can see the Renaissance castle Dobrovo, to Medana, where you can taste the world-famous wines of the best winemakers in Brda. When descending over Ceglo to Vipolže, you can observe the Italian part of Brd. In Vipolže, you can see the restored Villa Vipolže and drink a nice coffee in it, and then climb over Kozana to the village of Šmartno, where already in the Middle Ages the Šmart´ns taught the Romans how to grow and drink easier-to-digest white wine. After a short break in Šmartne, you can go up to our homestead via Imenje over Mejnik hill or past the San Martin hotel on the main road.
HEART OF BRDA
The route takes you through the very heart of Brd. It is also suitable for lovers of a drop of wine and gourmet pleasures, as there are the most renowned winemakers of Brda and the most renowned taverns in Brda on this route. From our homestead, the path begins to descend along the main road to Šmartno, where you can see a medieval village, from Šmartno, the path continues down to Dobrovo and then climbs to Medana and Ceglo, where you can stop for a tasting at the world-famous winemakers of Brda. From there you return to our homestead via Vipolže, where you can see the Vipolže villa, across Kozana and to Šmartno, from which you can only reach our homestead by a short climb.
